POSITION SUMMARY:
At NMDP, story marketers build trust and craft narratives that matter. They surface powerful, real-world stories from across our community—searching patients, blood stem cell donors, transplant recipients, researchers, clinicians, employees and beyond—to support our mission of saving lives through cell therapy. As a story marketer, you'll help shape how we show up in the world—across channels and to varied audiences—making sure the right stories reach the right people at the right time to educate and drive both brand engagement and meaningful action. ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Works internally to uncover story needs, evaluate available and potential stories and develop associated story strategies that meet business and brand goals and appeal to audiences in determined channels.
- Develops stories using a multi-audience, multi-channel mindsight, partnering cross-functionality to amplify and place stories via owned, earned and paid channels.
- Serves as a content expert across departments and go-to partner for story strategy recommendations and alignment across teams.
- Leverages department, channel and audience insights and translates into story needs, collaborating with story and creative teams to implement.
- Acts as relationship manager and liaison for story subjects, uncovering unique experiences, ensuring stories are activated appropriately and positively framing their experience with NMDP.
- Interprets and adheres to branding guidelines and confidentiality policies for all audiences and proprietary NMDP information.
- Establishes processes and best practices for story strategy and development to ensure stories are being told with the audience(s) of most impact in mind.
- Demonstrates best-practice knowledge of content marketing and owned/earned/paid activations.
- Distributes information to appropriate stakeholders on new/evolving content. Communicates proactively with teams on status updates, issues and barriers and recommends solutions to ensure work is delivered effectively and efficiently.
- Advocates for an understanding of, and compliance to, defined processes; provides guidance and feedback on areas of continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Excel, Word, content management systems, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok. Experience with AI tools a plus.
Ability to:
- Write at a highly skilled level
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Be highly detail-oriented, proactive and results-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills
- Collaborate on and manage multiple projects and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Plan strategically and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Stay current on content marketing best practices, trends and tools—and apply them
- Maintain and enhance knowledge of content marketing best practices, communications channels, emerging trends and new tools and processes.
- Communicate with audiences both large and small in an effective manner using a wide range of mediums
- Travel as required, estimated 6 trips per year of 2-5 days each
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, business, marketing, PR or communications
- 3+ years of direct storytelling, content development or marketing experience
