REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Working knowledge of grassroots advocacy principles.
- Knowledge of the legislative process at the federal, state and local level.
Ability to:
- Simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in varying stages of development under time constraints.
- Develop grassroots recruitment and activation campaigns.
- Recruit, direct, coach, monitor, and supervise volunteers.
- Work with minimal supervision, self-starter.
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
- Excellent presentation and training skills.
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated aptitude to utilize trend analysis, research and other sources to turn data and information into actionable information.
- Travel overnight approx. 10% of the time.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Communications, Marketing or related area or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience with community organizing and mobilization, volunteer management, public policy, public health, government relations, political and/or issue campaigns.
- Experience with developing and implementing training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)
- Experience with supporting integrated campaign strategies- media advocacy, grassroots mobilization, coalition-building and lobbying- to advance public policy goals.
- Basic experience with website content management.
- Database management experience.
- Volunteer management experience.
