POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Engagement & Events Intern (the internal job title is Member Recruitment Intern) is a public-facing member of NMDP on college campuses and within the community. This position engages with student peers and community members to spread awareness, educate, and inspire committed individuals to join the NMDP Registry through captive-audience presentations, tabling events, , and registry recruitment activities. Specifically, charged with cultivating, and growing the NDMP Mission at colleges/universities and within the community as measured by new NMDP registry members added by the Member Recruitment Intern.
Primary responsibilities include sustaining campus and community relationships and inspiring committed student peers and community members to join the NMDP registry. Key target audiences for Member Recruitment Interns are:
• Students, faculty, administrators, and staff.
• Student organizations
• Community Events focused on 18-30
• Local Businesses
With the specific focus to increase young adult members of the NMDP Registry through peer-to-peer and community engagement & education of diverse communities.
This position also delivers public health information through the planning and coordination of registry awareness, education, and recruitment activities to align with the vision of external partners and meet organizational goals and target. Collaboration with internal NMDP partners, as well as external partners, such as the intern’s campus and community network, is essential for maximizing NMDP’s lifesaving impact. All duties are performed in compliance with NMDP policies and procedures.
This role will work collaboratively with a regional Member Recruitment team to accomplish weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual registry recruitment goals. This is a remote position (US) located in Los Angeles, CA. #LI-Remote

Ability to:
• Learn, retain, and communicate lifesaving information about NMDP to spread awareness, educate, and grow the NMDP Registry within their campus and community.
• Leverage strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with other students , campus and community organizations.
• Build enthusiasm and inspire the community about NMDP’s lifesaving community through engaging conversations and public speaking
• Be highly organized and effectively manage your time, balancing the responsibilities of the internship with academic and other responsibilities.
• Adapt and problem-solve when things don’t initially go as planned.
• Lead weekly on-campus or community activations including, captive audience presentations, tabling, collaboration with other campus/community stakeholders, or NMDP recruitment event. These events may require the physical set up and break down of booth/tables/chairs/etc. and securing and managing volunteers to help achieve the weekly recruitment goal.
• Work in a remote environment under minimum in-person supervision and demonstrate consistent dependability.
• Learn and become proficient in NMDP’s member registration process.
• Comply with NMDP’s confidentiality policy.
• Utilize computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet search applications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience:
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a college or university
• Preference given to students who are currently NMDP Chapter members, NMDP Ambassadors and/or
NMDP volunteers
• Completed at least 30-hours of coursework.
• Minimum GPA 2.8.
Time Commitment:
• May 5th through August 25th : 25-40 hours/week
• Will include some weekend and evening hours.
Pay rate:
• $18.50/hour
