REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Must be proficient in the use of social media and the power of earned media.
- Knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Cultural knowledge of Asian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities including, but not limited to: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, South Asians, Native Hawaiian, Tongans, Samoans, Marshallese and Chamorros.
Ability to:
- Become proficient in Be The Match’s registration process and application.
- Comply with Be The Match’s confidentiality policy.
- Represent Be The Match throughout campus in a professional manner.
- Provide ongoing and proactive communication to Be The Match supervisor and team.
- Must be willing to take the lead role in on-campus activation events including, but not limited to, developing and implementing a plan to engage target audiences before, during and after events, physical set up and break down of booth/tables/ chairs/etc., and securing and managing volunteers to help ensure the recruitment goal for each event is achieved.
- Show an ability to proactively leverage digital marketing, in partnership with Be The Match’s marketing team, to drive recruitment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an innate ability to develop relationships with other students and campus organizations.
- A passion for public speaking and proficient in using various social media platforms to effectively promote Be The Match’s lifesaving mission.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Internet search applications.
- Must show ability to proactively leverage written and verbal communication skills to spread awareness, educate, and grow the Be The Match Registry within the campus community.
- Ability to speak an Asian or Pacific Islander language is preferred.
Education and/or Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a business, public health, social work, sociology, communications and/or public relations-focused bachelor’s degree program or recent graduate from a predominately Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander populated college campus. Completed at least 30 hours of relevant coursework. Minimum GPA 2.8.
- One previous internship preferred but not required.
Time Commitment:
- School Year: 10 hours/week;
- Hours per week may fluctuate depending on scheduled recruitment events
- Will include some weekend and evening hours
Pay rate:
- $18/hour
